They rather like being crammed in the pot, but if you'd like to repot, probably right after it's done blooming would be best.
They're pretty hard to kill, so don't worry too much.
is that a Christmas Cactus? My mom has one and babied it forever and could never get it to bloom, a friend told her to leave it alone and forget about it and sure enough it is now blooming.
I think they are beautiful.
